Geo-tagged field photo capture

In private use

Insurance agents document conditions in the field, and photographs are central to that record: what matters is not only the image, but proof of where and when it was taken. This tool captures photos with their geo-tagging attached, keeps them organized as named sessions, and files everything into the agent’s own Google Drive.

The need

Insurance work runs on trustworthy field documentation. A photograph of a vehicle, property, or site carries weight only if its time and location can be established, and every extra step between capture and filing is a step that gets skipped under time pressure.

Field visits also produce photos in bursts: a site inspection or claim visit generates a set of images that belongs together. Filing them one by one, or hunting for them later, wastes time the agent does not have.

Agents already keep their working documents in Google Drive. Requiring them to adopt separate storage would add friction and create one more place for records to get lost.

Approach

A capture-first tool: the agent takes the photo, the tool attaches the capture location and time, and the result is filed into the agent’s own Google Drive. The agent’s Drive remains the system of record, so the tool fits the workflow they already have instead of replacing it.

Sessions that file themselves

Before capturing, the agent names a session, such as a claim visit or a site inspection. Every photo taken in that session is saved automatically to a Google Drive folder created specifically for that session, so a field visit ends with its photographs already organized in one place.

The session is not a one-shot container: later, the agent can choose that same session folder again and keep adding photos to it as follow-up visits or evidence come in.

Efficient storage

Photos are compressed before filing, at a level tuned to remove wasted bytes without any loss of quality the eye can perceive. Agents keep the evidence they need at a fraction of the Drive storage they would otherwise consume.
